Dell Streak
Dell streak has finally come out, stirring much attention and discussion, marked brilliantly as the competitor of Apple iPad. Indeed, the design, the specifications and the targeted customers just overlap a lot and it is naturally for people to draw a conclusion between the two. But most of us might wonder: is Dell Streak, one of google android tablets, an eligible competitor against Apple iPad?
I should say it is totally unfair to tell which is better clean and cut, since the two have their own advantages. We should firstly admire Dell’s courage and innovation——-to bring out a half –tablet and half-smartphone product, Streak, though Dell prefers to define it as a tablet for the sake of market targeting. If it is an android netbook, Streak really does not have overwhelming advantage over Apple. Some optimists may view Dell Streak an unprecedented try, since an iPad competitor finally pops out. But some shortcomings may dash this praise. The operating system is android 1.6 tablet, not even android 2.1 tablet. How can it satisfy most of those customers who have been accustomed to the Android 2.1 widgets? Then it comes to the price. Are you really willing to spend the money buying a seemingly not mature enough tablet while you can buy a better tablet or smartphone at the same price? Only the customers know. The size might be an advantage: 5 inches, half size of the iPad’s. But if the size is the emphasis, then it will not explain why Dell is launching the bigger and bigger ones, 7 inches and 10 inches. Of course, other more professional eyes can see more and look deeper. The discrepancy between Streak and iPad is self-evident and needs time and technology to narrow.

Though dell streak is not perfect, it is really have it strong points and you can hardly ignore. I think it is a good try and we may have more choices.
The android 1.6 is a little outdated, this may disappointe many people. But ipad is not good enough, it is proprietary, tightly-controlled platform. It is not convenient enough for most of the business professionals.
I like ipad better. You have to admit Apple ipad is really hard to defeat in this area. Dell streak may constitute a rival, but ipad’s importance will not be moved in the mind of ipad’s millions of fans.
Dell streak is like a big size smartphone. It can make calls and function well as a phone, but it can also be called a tablet.Definitely, people will compare the two. The competition is a good thing for the costmers and they have more choices.
Dell streak looks good but the price is not attractive.I wish the price will decrese a little and I want to own one to have a try. I love new things, especially those good news things.
It’s a good thing that Dell has launched out such a product. I bet that Apple will no longer feel ease to have such a competitive rival. We may derive some benefits from that, the price may go down.
If it is a smartphone, it is a litttle big; if it is a android tablet, it looks small. So it is a combination of the two. It’s a general trend to blend the smartphone and tablet together.Dell streak is surely a good sample.
Dell streak and ipad mean the same thing to me. They are too expensive and I can not afford them. They are some very small group of people, some business professionals. So some ordinary cell phones or android notebook are my choices.
Why should we buy such streak, such a very normal tablet when ipad is a better choice. To defeat ipad is never gonna be easy, unless streak has some more advantages over ipad.I cannot figure out why some people will give up ipad to choose dell streak.
The screen of the dell streak looks great and it can be put in the pocket very convenient. It is definitely a qualified competitor of ipad. Android 1.6 is indeed not very good, but how about the OS of apple ipad. It’s more disappointing.
It’s never easy for a newly-launched produce to compete with a product which has already been accepted globally and won acknowledgement.Dell streak is really a good tablet.Don’t compare the weak points of something with strong points of something else. It’s unfair.
I am not the fans of the two, but I like new things coming out and welcome it. The initial try would always expect the following successful products. The more, the better. We see how far it can go.
Dell streak will definitely meet some competitors, thatk’s for sure. But I don’t think that Dell streak should look ipad as its biggest competitors. Their targeted customers are different with a little overlapping. The real competitors are those similar type of tablets. Those some of them are not as famous as dell, but they have their advantages, low price tablets.
