Steven Jobs’s remarks about android-based tablets and the 7’’ size two days ago somehow stirred not a little response. What’s said by such a influential person like Jobs may evolve into two direction, golden saying or arrant nonsense. But it seems that not everyone will agree with this genius, doubts and disputes are unavoidable.

Well, Jobs is quite confident in their Apple OS, since it works brilliantly with their successful mobile devices, ipad and iphone. The numbers of global sales  and the fever of Apple fans readily prove the truth. He is bold to make such remarks in an era when android tablets are mushrooming at an amazing speed and 7’’ becomes the popular size for tablets.

Android tablets are considered widely to be ipad killers due to the increasing popularity. Open or closed operating system is actually not the key point. What really counts is which is more powerful and which wins more support from the customers, since customers’ choice between these two kinds of tablets plays a decisive role as to which one  will be the final winner. Or there might be no final winners at all, and they will share the tablet market. Is that possible? Well, the answer seems self-evident. What really competes with Ipad is not android operation system but the various android-based tablets manufactured by numerous giant PC and smartphone makers, such as Samsung Galaxy, Dell Streak, and Advant Vega, etc. You can deal with one rival, but when you are surrounded by a group of rivals, are you still sure that you can break the siege and triumph gloriously? If so, then a legend will emerge.

Now apple has Apple OS 4.2, and android will surely not lag behind. Android 2.2 tablets with flash support have already marched into tablet market. Most likely, we will see android 3.0 and accordingly android 3.0 tablets  in December. We also expect android 4.0 to show up in the second half of next year, since many tablets makers are waiting eagerly for upgrading android OS. Time will tell us all.

Android tablets will surely outsell ipad in the near future. I have confidence in android tablets. Just see how many people are now talking about android tablets.
