9.7 inch capacitive multi touchscreen freescale android 2.2 tablet
I have been expecting this 9.7 Freescale capacitive multi touchscreen android 2.2 tablet ever since its announcement. When I finally get my hand on it, I find it is much different from what I have anticipated. It shares many similarities with its 8’’ Freescale sibling, similar shell, design, apps, and etc.
I always intend to consider that a 10’’ tablet pc appears a little large for a female user. So this 9.7 inch tablet (0.85kg) gives me a sense of heaviness, unnecessarily big size and dreary ponderosity. There are two ports on the exterior of tablet, 2.5mm earphone jack and an iPad-like interface for charging use and USB connecting. Quite annoying actually! When most of tablets offer standard 3.5mm earphone jack and USB 2.0 interface, this tablet is ready to freak you out because of its uniqueness. I suppose it is for the sake of depth, since this tablet has almost the same depth with iPad and other various ports are bound to fail this design. Where is the microSD card slot? Quite hard to find it, you have to remove the black plastic strap and the microSD card is right there.
The capacitive multi touchscreen is normal for an android tablet, but it is not so common for a 9.7 inch android tablet. The capacitive touchscreen of this tablet pc is almost the same with the other two Rockchip 2818 7 inch android tablets that I have reviewed, you can pinch and zoom, to alter font size and to view pictures in an impressive way. But one thing quite confounds me: when I pinch the pictures, the picture will restore the original size once my finders leave the screen.
Since the tablet runs android 2.2, there is no problem for smooth and clear flash playback. What attracts my attention might be the brilliant video playback performance. I download two high definition video with 1080p to test the video effect. To my delight, it has a very impressive picture and sound performance when the video is played.
But the price, $349.98, seems a little expensive for this tablet.
