Lenovo ThinkPad Knockoff X200
Few manufacturers are willing to churn out Lenovo ThinkPad notebook knockoffs due to their hard-to-imitate dark shells. As a matter of fact, ThinkPad notebooks are very particular with the exterior materials and design; if simply put on very ordinary materials, those ThinkPad knockoffs would look very unsightly and reduce to lame work eventually. However, ThinkPad still allures some manufacturers to make a bold attempt, since Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks have really captivated a lot of customers owing to its sound quality.
What makes this ThinkPad knockoff tolerable is that its shell resembles ThinkPad very much, a crucial point for clone or knockoff products. But you can sense the subtle difference when putting your hands on it. But the main difference lies in the performance. Real ThinkPad is powered by Core 2 Duo processor, but the knockoff uses Atom N450 for the present version and will upgrade to dual core 525 (1.8G) soon. It also comes with a 11.6 display with 1366*768 resolution, 1G memory and 160G storage and 4400mAh battery.
You can even see the sign of ThinkPad on this device, but with absence of the logo of Lenovo. The dimension for this knockoff is 294x193x25~38mm, slightly different from the genuine ones. There is an internal webcam on the top part of the display. Above the webcam is a ThinkLight, that is, a keyboard LED, opened up by FN+PgUp. Red track point, capable of doing the work of single click and double click of mouse, is very conspicuous among the keys. You can also see a fingerprint lock on the right side. The ports include DC IN, ventilation holes, two USB, VGA, LAN on the left flank and USB, headphone jack and microphone on the right flank. Next to the microphone, you can also see a lid. Open the lid, you can move out the hard drive disk.
The CPU would be upgraded to D525 dual cores at the end of this month with little price difference.

Oh, I like Lenovo and Thinkpad Series is my favorite of Lenovo notebooks. Its design of shell attracts me much. ThinkPad X200 knockoff is sort of much cheaper. But its performance is much sluggish.Atom N450 and can be upgraded to dual core 525 (1.8G), which is an unexpected surprise. One shortcoming: memory is a little bit small. If the memory can be 2G, it will be perfect.
Atom processor for this Thinkpad X200 little darkie? Rarely heard! I always am one of AMD fans. Don’t like Intel. Because it is so expensive. But, AMD with comparative lower price shows us better performance. What’s worse, the memory is only 1G—not big enough. I always play games like the Need for Speed 9 that need strong CPU and big memory. Otherwise, the computer will be stucked.
Believable ? At all the time, I am doubting the quality of knockoff and post-service. Because the price and quality or service are in proportion to each other. It is heard, in China, Lenovo is noted for its quality and service and Lenovo is much more expensive than others, esp. Thinkpad series. But lots of persons would like to pay more to buy Lenovo. Worry about clone notebook’s quality and post-service!
Good clone Lenovo ThinkPad X200 knockoff! It makes the person who have less money can experience better. The configuration of hardwares sound not bad. If Atom N450 and can be upgraded to dual core 525 (1.8G), I will more satisfied with it because I can get Thinkpad notebook at lower price.
I have been worried about the fate of knockoff especially for Lenovo Thinkpad, because I don’t know whether the copyright issues give much threat to knockoff products. The biggest advantage for Knockoffs is their low price and affordability. Kind of more choice.
