Motorola Atrix VS LG Optimus 2X

The heated discussion and intense exposure of Motorola Atrix and LG Optimus 2X, both based on prevailing Nvidia Tegra 2, might usher in a new era for dual-core smartphone and tend to make a difference as to how we view smartphones. In addition to the harsh competition between Tegra2- based smartphones and phones based on other platforms, we’d also like to see the combat between Tegra 2 dual-core smartphones themselves. Motorola Atrix and LG Optimus 2X, the typical representatives, are our focus here. Let’s have a look at the comparison of specs first.

Apparently, Motorola Atrix comes with more sound specs than LG Optimus 2X except camera. Atrix and Optimus 2X, despite the differences in design and buttons and ports layout, have their own charismatic features. There is no necessity to judge which one looks more gorgeous. As for screen, Atrix is packed with TFT screen while Optimus 2X uses relatively better materials, IPS screen. Atrix has a higher resolution than Optimus, but the latter comes with better performance in sideway viewing.

In addition to android 2.2, Atrix also comes with a fresh UI, Ubuntu, which enables a very fast booting speed when placed on a docking station. It resembles a combination of a virtual phone UI plus Firefox browser. This is a very outstanding feature of Motorola Atrix. In contrast, LG Optimus uses a classic Android UI though still carrying its own vivacious and bright style. As for camera performance, it is obvious that LG Optimus, with a high-definition camera, does better in picture shots. When it comes to bench mark, thanks to their potent CPU, the outcomes are amazing enough, with Atrix scoring 2711 and Optimus 2X 2718, which has obvious advantage in 3D functionality and multi touch.

Anyway, Motorola Atrix and Optimus 2X enable us to experience what a high-end smartphone can bring us. We are unable to arrive at a conclusion to say which is better clean and cut. It sort of depends on personal inclination.
